Gruppo Banca Leonardo

Gruppo Banca Leonardo S.p.A. was established in October 1999.

In April 2006, Mr. Gerardo Braggiotti, together with a group of major international  investors, acquired and recapitalized GBL with the aim of transforming it into a private investment bank, active in Continental Europe and focussed on investment banking, wealth management and private equity.

Since the acquisition, GBL realized important add-ons to strengthen its investment banking and wealth management activities and to expand its international footprint. In particular, GBL added:

• In Italy Leonardo & Co. S.p.A., in France Leonardo & Co. Sas, in Germany Leonardo & Co. GmbH & Co. KG,  all independent companies operating in the M&A and corporate finance advisory activities like Leonardo & Co. B.V., established in Amsterdam and active in Benelux as well as Leonardo Asesores Financieros S.A.;
• DNCA, an independent asset management firm located in Paris (now owned by GBL at 67% with a put&call option to increase GBL’s stake to 100% in the future);
• GBL Fiduciaria, a company that provides fiduciary services and wealth planning advisory.
